| 6:13 PM - one of 4,552 best weekends ev... Friday: After much toil & strife, finally finished my paper for my Underachievement in High-Ability Students Course. Yeehaw! I think it was pretty well-written, to boot! Unfortunately, I was several hours behind schedule after the ERC barista put sugar-free hazelnut syrup in my au lait instead of regular sugared-kind. Oops--guess who ended up with the worst migraine ever? Oh, lord. Luckily, some love from little Crackbaby, a Glamour magazine-filled visit to the unveiling of the Jittery Joe's infused Terrapin beer, and a yummy dinner at Transmet converged to make me feel a lot better and less likely to kill the ERC boy.
Sadly, this left me with half a paper to do at 9 PM when the original plan was to finish it by 8. Alas. I missed a Christmas cocktail party at a lovely acquaintance's house and didn't get to see the Electa Villain + Hope for Agoldensummer show.
Let's not lose sight of what's important, though: I FINISHED MY HUGE 20-PAGE FINAL PAPER! And on time, too!
Saturday: Had breakfast and coffee at the slightly too chilly Big City Bread. Then headed home, where I had enough energy to start cleaning up my house, throwing all school-related crap into binders in the office. Then I had an afternoon of Bloody Mary-filled bowling, where I was massacred but still had one of the best non-dates of my recent life.
In the evening, I saw Walk the Line and headed out for drinks with friends, one of whom I rarely get to see, so that was fabulous. Then AmeriCorps lovely Carly showed up, and we had lovely conversation.
Top off that night with a cuddle slumber party at the Gawminator's, and I had no complaints.
Sunday: In the morning, I had one sweet white mocha at Jittery Joe's followed by more caffeine at the Grit with Carls & her ceaselessly entertaining band of friends. Later I did the obligatory pre-party Target visit and rounded out the day with a fancy dinner with Tamara and a cocktail party at a new friend's.
Wow, this is reading like a horrifically boring journal entry when really all I wanted to say is that I had a lovely, lovely last few days. If you were one of my drunk dial victims last night, consider yourself blessed.
