| | 1:09 AM - breakups abound I used to (as in, I probably joked about it within the last two weeks) refer to certain times of the year as "Breakup Season," but this season seems particularly heartwrenching.
One friend ended up not getting married as planned with less than a month before what was to be the proverbial Big Day. Another may have left town to find a new home after a sudden breakup with the longterm partner.Yet another seemingly healthy relationship fizzled without warning and chances of reconciliation appear slim at best.
Watching everyone in such pain is so hard to do; watching as they struggle to hide it is pretty awful, too. All these people will be okay, but telling them so is patronizing and probably not too helpful at this point. My pity will be of no assistance, either, but I can't help feeling as if I have been punched in the gut when I hear of these close relationships suddenly disappearing. I have "no right" to cry, but I do.
