7:40 PM - exhausting, rewarding day
Current mood: accomplished

I have been an official ropes facilitator at the UGA course for 9 months now, but today was the first day I got to be an official employee during the high ropes elements. I got to the Intramural Fields at 8:04 AM and left at 6:53 PM. Jeremy, Crystal, Roy, and I worked with around thirty adults who are in town for a few weeks at a course at the Navy School. It was an inspirational day, as usual--people overcoming fears, people climbing 40' walls after thinking they'd have no choice but to quit halfway, people clapping for each other as they struggled to complete a group element. Whatever I say about working on the ropes course ends up sounding horrifically cheesy, but suffice it to say that I LOVE my job and think I well deserve the peaceful sleep I'll soon fall into.

I got really positive feedback from the participants and fellow facilitators--I don't aim to boast, but I will say this: I think I'm damn good at my job, and I'm proud of myself! So there. I climbed lots of trees and hung from wires and figured out how all the ropes and caribiners and lobster claws all work together, and I'm utterly pooped. La di da. Adieu.
