7:40 PM - exhausting, rewarding day I have been an official ropes facilitator at the UGA course for 9 months now, but today was the first day I got to be an official employee during the high ropes elements. I got to the Intramural Fields at 8:04 AM and left at 6:53 PM. Jeremy, Crystal, Roy, and I worked with around thirty adults who are in town for a few weeks at a course at the Navy School. It was an inspirational day, as usual--people overcoming fears, people climbing 40' walls after thinking they'd have no choice but to quit halfway, people clapping for each other as they struggled to complete a group element. Whatever I say about working on the ropes course ends up sounding horrifically cheesy, but suffice it to say that I LOVE my job and think I well deserve the peaceful sleep I'll soon fall into.
